Vision
"Eating is an agricultural act." - Wendell Berry
Edible Ecology is an edible landscaping and farm planning company that holds to ecologically and socially regenerative principles.
Our philosophy draws chiefly from Permaculture design, an ecological approach to designing sustainable and dynamically permanent human habitats and agriculture, rooted in observing natural principles. Other design and planning methodologies such as Keyline planning and Holistic Management are incorporated into our protocols, as we aim to embody a whole-systems design process that is anchored in the social, climatic, geographical, and economic realities of a given situation.
We imagine re-engineering our food system back to one where most fresh produce comes from within twenty feet of the kitchen, and livestock is communally grazed in vast swathes of designed wilderness corridors that are woven throughout the rural areas that connect population centers.
Our mission at edible ecology is the creation of more resilience in our communities by way of increased food and water security, empowerment through knowledge, and good stewardship of our environmental and social contexts.
